User-friendly Content — Because it Matters

When we talk about visibility, we mean how high up the SERP your website appears for certain search terms in the ‘organic’ results. Organic results refer to those that appear naturally on the page, rather than in the paid-for sections. Keep track of how many times your past keywords have yielded expected results. Use the right tools to track where you rank for the keywords you target. It is important to remember though that organic link building does not happen overnight. You have to build a perceptive strategy to generate the highest quality of content and then promote it amongst the influencers of your market to gain organic links. If someone hits their back button immediately after landing on a page, it tells Google in black-and-white: this is low quality page. That’s why Google uses “dwell time” to size up your content’s quality. If you're willing to vouch for links added by third parties (e.g. if a commenter is trusted on your site), then there's no need to use nofollow on links; however, linking to sites that Google considers spammy can affect the reputation of your own site.

Make sure contact forms and contact information are current

Get specific by taking a structured approach. It’s not enough to focus on the right keyword—you need to make sure that you’re communicating the ‘right’ information to Google in a structured way. Remember that keywords or phrases on each of your pages should total to around 3 to 5 percent of the total text of the pages. Your keywords should be spread out across multiple pages, not just focusing only on the homepage, as all of your pages carry an importance. Your page can have more entry points if it has more ranks. A greater number of people will stick to voice search, so SEO specialists will have to adjust to this relatively new type of search. Today, many sites use secondary menus to accommodate for additional content. Loads of site-owners can’t help but state that they “can’t squeeze all they have to say in just a few pages.” Keyword research can prove to be one of the most high return activities, not only in SEO, but in search marketing as a whole. Selecting the right keywords and strategically placing them in key areas of your pages isn't rocket science, but it does take a little time and dedication.

When optimizing your Google My Business page, remember to upload your business logo and photos of your business (staff, office building, etc.). For an online business with no physical location, you can hide your address, but be sure to fill in and validate every other piece of information entered. Instead, the recommendation hovers at around 1-2% keyword density. Keyword research can turn into a useful ally, especially if you bear in mind that you don’t always need to target the most obvious keywords. Optimizing a blog is very similar to optimizing a website, and optimizing a blog post similar to optimizing a web page. But depending on the blogging service or software you use, the results may look somewhat different. Prevent duplicate content. Don’t confuse Google with almost similar pages. Those serve no one. The more relationships you have and the more people trust you, the more people will talk about you, link to you and, ultimately, buy from you. I am already at 1,500 words for this post (unless my editor breaks out a Ginsu knife). Also, publish frequently. Try one post per week until you get the hang of writing and blogging. Then bump that up to twice per week. Search engines have made it clear: a vitally important part of the future of search is “rich results.” When a website wants a piece of content to be representative of a “thing” – like a profile page, an event page, or a job posting – its code needs to be marked up properly. Most people can make a short (or long) list of keywords that might be used to find their own site. But ask other people these questions and write down their keyword suggestions, too.
